These blades stay cool, prevent burning and help achieve a very smooth finish just like a Bunnings floor. 

Plastic blades, often called Teflon blades are a unique blade that is only used in the final stages of finishing concrete. They are used to create a “Light Coloured” burnt finish.

Conventional burn finishing with steel blades leaves the surface darker as a result of the steel filings from the blades darkening the concrete. When burning with Plastic or Teflon blades, the resulting finish is a light coloured creamy finish.

However, the finishing process is quite different. When finishing with plastic blades, the concrete needs to be floated and trowelled in the same way that a traditional burnt finish would be prepared. Plastic blades are only used in the final stages once the surface is closed up an ready to burn.
